Student Parent Services
Los Angeles Mission College is here to support students with dependent children to achieve academic success and complete their degree program. We provide a wide range of state, on-campus, and off-campus student parent services and resources.

- Students may be eligible for up to $3,417 for tax year 2022 as a working family or individual earning up to $30,000 per year.

- Helps families across the state by providing nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy foods, and referrals to health care and other community services.

- Provides a credit up $1,083 per tax return for Californians who qualify for CalEITC and have a child under 6 years old.
- California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs)
- Provides cash aid and support to eligible students who live with a child or children.
- Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)
- Brings additional benefits to Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) students who are parenting, receiving CalWORKs/TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) benefits, and are working towards getting a degree, transferring to a four-year university, or getting their credentials.
- Child Development Center
- Offers services for student-parents with children 12 months-4 years of age while attending LASC.
- Basic Needs Center
- Assists students by finding resources in the community for unhoused students who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.
- Guardian Scholars Foster Youth Program
- Supports former or current foster youth between ages 17-30 who want to go to college and pursue academic, career, and personal goals.
- NextUp Foster Youth Program
- Supports current and former foster youth who want to attend college.

- Federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex--including pregnancy and parental status--in educational programs and activities.

- Fights in courts, cities, counties, and in the Capitol to secure housing, health care, and a strong safety net for Californians with low incomes.
